IN the nine weeks and six days, (who’s counting? Everyone!), since Ireland went into lockdown, DJ sets and live streamed kitchen discos have proved to be a pretty resilient format to create the excitement of a shared music experience so far this Summer.
Limerick based collective CABAL who have run sell-out shows for their monthly residencies here and in Galway will take their legendary underground dance parties online this weekend.
Cabal-Behind Closed Doors is a virtual performance series happening from May 22-24.
Three venues across three cities over three days will broadcast 12 hours daily of live DJ sets with full Cabal visual production featuring Peter Curtin, 40 Hurtz, Daire Shox, R. Kitt, Madbh O’Connor, Nialler9, George Feeley among many others.
Colm Brandon from Cabal reported, “Cabal-Behind Closed Doors will be live-streamed exclusively onto our website via our bespoke media player which will enable you to stream / cast in Full HD with high resolution audio.
“This all means better quality audio and video and no copyright algorithm so no interruptions!”
Broadcast from Dolan’s Warehouse, Róisín Dubh, Galway and the Conference Services Studio in Dublin, sanitation and social distancing measures will be in place in each venue to ensure the safety of all artists and crew involved.
Tickets are free via Eventbrite, and will provide punters with an access code to view the stream and also an email link for the zoom chat on the days of the event.
