LAST week we told you how Ballysteen and Monaleen had decided to raise funds for essential equipment for the University Hospital in Limerick as a result of the Coronavirus epidemic.
The teams were scheduled to face in the first roun of the Limerick Senior Football Championship last weekend and opted to fundraise after the suspension of the GAA season prevented them from squaring off.
With the clubs and players from both sets of teams posting the link to the Go Fund Me Page, the clubs exceeded all expectations to raise over €6,000 for the hospital.
Both clubs thanked the generous donors yesterday.
