The Cheltenham Festival for 2020 has come to an end and looks like the last bit of sporting action for the foreseeable future as major sports events are being cancelled every hour due to the threat of COVID-19.

Regardless of your stance on the event taking place amidst the crisis, it has been an extremely good week at the festival for Limerick’s JP McManus.

He took home the award for Leading trainer as he saw seven of his horses win during the four day event.

On Monday, McManus had success with Epatante on his 69th birthday.

Tuesday would be an incredible day for McManus as he had four winners.

He combined with Barry Geraghty and Nicky Henderson for victories on Champ and Dame de Compagnie.

Further winners on that day would come in the form of Easyland and Aramax.

There was just the one winner on the Thursday for McManus as Sire de Berlais secured another victory for the McManus-Geraghty combo.

McManus secured his seventh victory of the week on Gold Cup day as Saint Roi, ridden by Geraghty came up trumps in the County Hurdle.
