Sinead brings new vision to Limerick business women

-

AN inspirational Cork woman who was the first blind person to complete a marathon in each of the seven continents in less than seven days will provide some unique insights for Limerick business women next week.

Dr Sinead Kane, a lawyer, mediator and two-time Guinness World Record holder is guest speaker at the next Network Ireland Limerick event at the Clayton Hotel on Wednesday, March 25.

Dr Kane will share her insights on how to overcome adversity and build resilience thereby creating a mindset for success.

A qualified lawyer who holds a double PhD doctorate, she is also a double Guinness World Record Holder for the furthest distance for a female on a treadmill in 12 hours and for being the first blind person to complete a Marathon each of the seven continents in less than seven days.

She has forged a career as one of Ireland’s best ultra runners despite having less than five per cent vision and having only started running in 2012.

Fiercely determined since a young age, Dr Kane said, โ€œI think a perception people have is people with blindness and disabilities canโ€™t do things. Throughout my life, Iโ€™ve always strived to achieve things a fully sighted person hasnโ€™t.โ€

Network Ireland Limerick branch President Petrina Hayes, said that every day we face challenges; some small and some so big they may seem insurmountable, but quite often a solution can be found if we adapt or alter our mindset.

“Iโ€™m delighted Dr Kane will be joining us and sharing her tips on how to create a mindset for success. She has confronted so many challenges in life; it is mind-blowing what she has achieved to date.โ€

This event is free for members of Network Ireland and โ‚ฌ25 for non-members. Tickets must be booked in advance on Eventbrite or atย www.networkireland.ie
