Man arrested and charged following robbery and burglary in Limerick

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s in relation to a burglary and a robbery that occurred on February 2, 2020 in Co. Limerick.

At approximately 6am, Gardaí received a report that a man had been robbed at knifepoint by a man on a bicycle on Redgate Road, Caherdavin. The man had his wallet stolen and received a punch to the face but did not require medical attention at the time of the incident.

Shortly after, Gardaí received a report of a burglary in the area where the front window of a business premises had been smashed and a small sum of cash taken.

Gardaí from Mayorstone Park carried out an investigation and executed a search warrant at a house in Limerick yesterday, February 5. A man in his 20s was arrested and brought to Henry Street Garda Station.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been charged to appear before Limerick District Court this morning, February 6 at 10.30am.
