Limerick Ladies kick off National League Campaign with one-point loss

New Limerick Ladies Football Manager Donal Ryan got his term off to a losing start as his side were beaten by Carlow 2-9 to 1-11 in the first round of the National Football League.

Played out in IT Carlow, Limerick held a healthy 0-8 to 0-4 lead after a half an hour.

However two second half goals for Carlow would prove the difference between the sides.

Next up for Limerick is a clash with Derry in Staker Wallace next Sunday at 2pm.

Derry were heavily beaten by Leitrim in their first game, losing 5-17 to 0-3.
