Christmas time is all about family, friends, eating and socialising and with over 1 million people expected to fly home for the festive season that is a lot of brussel sprouts.
According to research carried out by Deliveroo, the average Irish person will eat 11 Brussel Sprouts.
68 percent of Irish adults said they want them on their plate, 24 percent said they would take or leave them. Less than one in ten (8%) said that Sprouts ruin their dinner plates.
On top of that the average Irish person will consume 6 slices of smoked salmon, 2 glasses of Bailey’s, 4 Christmas sandwiches, 6.5 mince pies, 2.5 glasses of mulled wine, 2 Christmas dinners, and 1 potato croquette.
