LIMERICK Jazz Workshop will host its 12th annual Christmas performance this Thursday December 5 from 7pm in its usual venue, Upstairs in Dolan’s. As well as sequential ensembles of musicians playing fervently over the evening to showcase their jazz and jamming skills, finger food will be served on the house, enhancing the party atmosphere.
Limerick Jazz Workshop was founded by saxophonist Ed Hansom in 2007. It has grown from strength to strength and now boasts more than 30 students brought along by a top class teaching faculty .
“The students are put through their paces learning jazz standards and improvisation every Tuesday evening at the Learning Hub in Kileely,” explains Limerick Jazz chair John Daly. “The year is spaced over two terms, January to May and September to December and these include a public concert performance marking the end of each term and its content.”
