Student hazard

-

STUDENTS are being forced to cross four lanes of a dual carriageway because bus stops have been removed.

Thatโ€™s according to Mayor of Clare Cathal Crowe who has asked Bus Eireann to immediately reinstate the stops between Bunratty and Cratloemoyle.

He claimed that the bus stops which were in place for decades were removed without consultation.

Stating that 13-year-olds were being forced to brave the four lanes of traffic on the N18, he added that the school service in Cratloe and Meelick has been thrown into disarray as bus drivers are within their rights not to stop to pick up passengers where there are no bus stops.

โ€œMany of the students affected are attending secondary schools in Limerick,โ€ he said.
