Limerick Golf Club are celebrating a prestigious double this Monday after landing the AIG Senior Cup and AIG Barton Shield over the weekend.
The Barton Shield victory came on Saturday after a close encounter with Tralee that came down to the final hole.
Limerick eventually coming out with a 2&1 aggregate win. Limerick beat Kinsale on the final hole to reach the final.
Ciaran Vaughan and Michael Reddan had a three hole win, while Justin Kehoe and Owen O’Brien lost their game by one hole.
Sunday proved to be just as successful with the AIG Senior Cup added to the title won on Saturday.
This victory proved to be more straightforward as they saw off Bandon on a 4-1 scoreline.
Wins for Justin Kehoe, Owen O’Brien Ciaran Vaughan gave
Limerick three points and with Patrick Naughton and Michael O’Kelly’s matches called
in and halved, victory was secured.
