ENJOY late music on Friday July 26 when the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble (est. 1985) comes to UCH for the Limerick leg of a tour, 7.30pm performance.

At least 70 wind, brass and percussion players come together for an exceptional visual display for those of us who love to admire orchestra. They will create โ€œexciting and energetic music for large scale ensemble such as Philip Sparkeโ€™s โ€˜Navigation Marchโ€™, Martin Ellerbyโ€™s โ€˜Silent Movie Suiteโ€™ and James Barnesโ€™ arrangement of Gershwinโ€™s โ€˜Porgy and Bessโ€™.โ€

IYWE artistic director Ronan Oโ€™Reilly will lead:ย โ€œThe music programme has been selected to demonstrate the technical and musical abilities of some of Irelandโ€™s finest young wind, brass and percussion instrumentalists from which they themselves will reap a great educational appreciation for this medium.โ€

Booking at University Concert Hallโ€™s site, www.uch.ie and again, note 7.30pm.
