DIRECTOR of Lime Tree Theatre Louise Donlon and staff gathered at The Savoy Hotel on Tuesday afternoon for a very special announcement. Invited guests were delighted to hear that having broken box office records at the theatre back in 2017, the smash hit musical ‘Angela’s Ashes The Musical’ will return for a strictly limited run of 11 performances this July 18 to 27. Special guest Jacinta Whyte flew in from London for the occasion and entertained guests with a powerful performance of ‘Sing River Shannon’, Angela’s poignant lament for her lost baby boy.
Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, ‘Angela’s Ashes The Musical’ will reprise Jacinta as Angela and Eoin Cannon as Frank, and the full cast will be announced in coming weeks. This uplifting story of hope, fortitude and family will bring audiences back into the Lime Tree Theatre in their droves from all over the Mid-West before it embarks on an extensive tour with performances scheduled for Dublin, Cork, Belfast and the UK. Other producers are flying in from Britain to check out the musical for their own venues. Book for Limerick while you can!
