Limerick FC midfielder Sean Russell joined Jamie Moore on the Off the Ball League of Ireland Podcast this afternoon to discuss ongoing issues with his current employers surrounding treatment for a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Russell suffered the injury during a 2-0 victory over Athlone Town at the Markets Field in March. The son of former Limerick manager Martin Russell, Sean was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Russell was informed by club officials that the operation and medical costs would be sorted by Limerick FC. However, in the past two weeks, the former UCD man has received a bill of €4,500 from the hospital as the club have failed to sort the issue.

Russell needs to undergo a second operation but was able to undergo his first operation as Limerick FC had paid by a number of cheques. However, outside of one cheque, all the rest bounced, leaving a sizeable bill of €4,500.

The clinic have received no response from Limerick FC in relation to the issue so Russell has been sent the outstanding bill.
