ANYONE who goes down to the woods – or the streets – in Castleconnell on this Sunday, May 5 will be in for a big surprise.

The village is set to become one big outdoor picnic venue and locals are invited to come out on the street for a  celebration of community togetherness.

The Castleconnell Street Feastival is being held in conjunction with the new national community weekend The Big Hello’s Street Feast and will be held on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend.

However, the event organisers, LOVE Castleconnell promise it will be much more than just a celebration of food.

“Castleconnell has experienced huge growth in recent years”, said Nicky McNamara from LOVE Castleconnell, “and we thought what better way to celebrate the community than run a Street Feast, taking a moment to break bread together – this is a perfect way for people to meet and get to know each other. There will be something for all the family!”
