A LIMERICK design company has been working with young people with experience of Tuslaโs services to design and launch a new website to help others like them to better understand the work of the Child and Family Agency.
The new site, changingfutures.ieย has beenย created by young people, for young people.
Limerick based design studio Piquant Mediaย worked with the young people and Tusla to realise this creative project and to develop the websiteย changingfutures.ie
Through a series of workshops and consultations the young people developed the language, designs and creative ideas to communicate their experience of Tusla.ย The site has been designed to help other children understand what it means if Tusla is involved in their lives.
Speaking about the development of the website,ย Dillon Owen (16), one of the contributors to the project, said:
โThe website is for young people that need information, but alsoย donโt want to be judged or thought of differentlyโ.
According to Dillon, it was important to use โchild-friendlyโ language as well as this, the group felt that most of the information available currently was in physical format, and that it was important to move into a medium where young people felt more comfortable and engaged.
Piquant Media worked on developing the website based on this consultation with Tusla service users, creating a suite of custom icons, characters and motion graphics to populate the site.
Commenting on the projectย Piquant Media Director and Creative Lead on the project Conor Buckleyย said: โIt has been tremendous to work with the young people on this project, their creativity and energy is inspiringโ.
