Limerick Celtics National league ladies finished off their first season in National league with some very impressive performances in the National basketball arena on Thursday.
The ladies reached the National Shield Final but lost out to Swords Thunder on a 56 to 49 score line.
Celtics had put in a super semi-final performance to advance to the final on a 59 to 35 win over UL Huskies and just seemed to run out of steam in this fast-paced final.
The fifth game of the day just proved too much for the young Celtics side as Swords hit some huge shots to give them a commanding lead in the third quarter.
Celtics fought back to bring the game back to four points but a huge 3 pointer from Swords increased their lead to 7 and they ran out worthy winners
