Former Limerick FC manager Noel O’Connor joined Adrian Finnin to discuss the 2002 League Cup success in which his locally based players defeated four premier division teams to win the trophy.
Limerick were rooted to the bottom of Ireland’s second tier which made the victory even more special. O’Connor was clearly beaming with pride when speaking about the victory.
We achieved great things with that win. I remember someone involved in the league of Ireland telling me, if you win the champions league it won’t surpass what you achieved here.
