READERS are in time to catch the second and final night of Villiers School Transition Year production of โA Mid Summer Nightโs Dreamโ – adapted with a twist, notes vice principal Mary Quinn. More than 50 students are on stage under the watchful eye of directors Ann Blake and Niamh Bowen who are experienced dramaturgs as well as performers themselves.
We are told that โโA Mid Summer Nightโs Dreamโ is a tale of two worlds, of fairies and humans.
โIn Ann Blake and Marie Boylanโs re-write of this classic Shakespearean play, the fairy world is viewed through the folklore of Ireland, where the Irish fairies trick and fool the royal Athenians.โ
Anticipate โa fun and fast paced comedy of mistaken identity, marital discord and pure tomfooleryโ in the wicked venue of Dance Limerick at Johnโs Square.
Tonight, Thursday 17 at 8pm; tickets from the school 061-451447,ย Adults โฌ15 / Students โฌ10.
