The Dr Harty Cup takes centre stage this week with both Ardscoil Rís and Catletroy College in action in the competition today.
Reigning champions, Ardscoil Rís can go a long way in booking their place in the knockout stages with a victory over Nenagh in Newport at 1.30pm.
Ardscoil started their campaign with a promising 0-18 to 1-9 victory over Cork’s
Gaelcholaiste Mhuire An Mhainistir Thuaidh in round 1.
They face Colaiste Cholmain Fermoy in a fortnight in their final group game.
The champions can call on the likes of Cathal O’Neill who was in inspired form against the Cork side notching 8 points in total, as well as Emmett McEvoy, Barry O’Connor and Colin Coughlan.
As for Castletroy, they need a win if they are to stand any chance of progression. They were well beaten by last years runners-up CBC in their opening game, losing by 27 points.
They face a Thurles side who are yet to feature in the championship
In their ranks, they have county minor stars Padraig Harnett and Diarmuid Hegarty, brother of All-Ireland winning Gearoid.
John the Baptist have a bye week on Wednesday before facing Blackwater Community School Lismore on November 21.
