Dolan’s welcomes hometown heroes Whenyoung and The Murder Capital this weekend

IT promises to be a weekend of outstanding music at Dolan’s on the Dock Road.
With international awards stacked perilously high on the shelves in the bar, Mick Dolan and bookers are welcoming some essential gigs to the city in the coming days and weeks.

London based Limerick trio Whenyoung are getting loads of airplay for recent singles ‘Given Up’ and ‘Pretty Pure’. A well timed cover of The Cranberries ‘Dreams’ has brought them loads of positive attention. For Aoife Power (Vocals/Bass), Niall Burns (Guitar) and Andrew Flood (Drums), the band who met dancing to indie anthems in Costello’s, the moment has arrived. Celebrate with them this Saturday November 3.

Hailing from all corners of Ireland, The Murder Capital return to Limerick this Friday November 2 on the back of a blistering set at Electric Picnic. The buzz is building for this post-punk band driven by the desire to affect cultural change.
They haven’t released any material yet. Online all you get is a live session of one song ‘More is Less’ recorded at Herbert Place Studios in the Summer. That recording only gives a hint of the ear-blistering impact of the band live on stage. ‘Elements of The Fall’ and ‘Dublin’s Girl Band’ are a vague signpost, it is emotional ferocious angular momentum all of their own making.

Special guests are Limerick’s buzz band Pow Pig making an all too rare appearance as they face into Leaving Cert distractions in 2019.

Delorentos new album ‘True Surrender’ heralds an expansion in the band’s sound. The extended line up and a longer live set will reflect the new musical space where the indie veterans now reside. Promises to be an exciting experience. Onstage at Dolan’s Warehouse on Saturday November 3.
