Almost 2000 students were presented with academic degrees and other awards at Mary Immaculate College’s annual conferring ceremonies which took place over three days starting Thursday, October 25.
Limerick hurler, Cian Lynch, graduated on Thursday with a BA in Geography and Theology & Religious Studies.
Cian, along with fellow Limerick hurler and MIC classmate, Aaron Gillane, were presented with an Award for Outstanding Achievement in recognition of their sporting achievements, specifically winning the Limerick Senior Hurling All Ireland Title 2018.
Continuing to fly the flag for females is Limerick’s Róisín Upton, current PME (Primary Teaching) student, who was honoured at this year’s conferring ceremony with an Award for Outstanding Achievement in recognition of her sporting achievements having represented Ireland in the 2018 Hockey World Cup.
Another proud Limerick lady is Kelly Ryan from Lisnagry, Co Limerick who was the recipient of no less than four awards including the College Gold Medal for achieving first place in the B Ed in Education and Psychology programme (Primary Teaching with Psychology).
