Anna’s Anchor – honesty, melody, a heart full of vibrant songs and everybody’s welcome

BEFORE heading out on a 20 date UK/European tour Limerick emo punk rockers Anna’s Anchor play this Saturday for the hometown live launch of the new album ‘Everybody’s Welcome’.

The album is picking up positive press for its honest, sometimes brutally honest lyrics and musical progression and building confidence within the project which is a vehicle for Marty Ryan’s songwriting.
Songs from the raging ‘White Washed Corridor’ (living with and coming to terms with alcoholism) to the heartbreaking ‘For The Parish’ (written for a friend who passed away last year), are songs that grow and grow with every listen.

The production and mixing by Marty and engineer Mike Gavin and the mixing of John Goodmanson on ‘Everybody’s Welcome is top notch, the band never sounded better with sterling layered guitar work, strong melodies and fine harmonies from Clare O’Brien (Randolf & The Crokers) guesting on backing vocals.

“We got it mixed by John Goodmanson in Seattle,” says Ryan, “He has recorded bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Soundgarden, Pavement, Wu Tang Clan, Hanson…the list of sick bands is actually endless. That was such a cool experience.
“We’re by far the smallest act he’s worked with in recent years.”

Seeing and hearing this fine album be recreated live by Anna’s Anchor full band is a must see show this weekend.
