Drug policy experts talk about the decriminalisation of people who use drugs in Limerick

-

THE Ana Liffey Drug Project has joined forces with the London School of Economics and Hot Press for a series of Town Hall Events to discuss the decriminalisation of people who use drugs in Limerick. They’ll be hosting an event in the Hunt Museum Café on Tuesday, September 11 to discuss the harms of the current approach, what can be learnt from experiences elsewhere, and what a health led approach to drug use could look like.

Along with the expert panel, special guests on the night include Limerick Metropolitan Mayor, Cllr Daniel Butler; Dyrt, the Limerick rapper and spoken word artist who’ll be performing and talking about how drugs have impacted on his community; and Conor Ward, a locally based singer-songwriter whose ‘Hope’ single carries a strong, positive mental health message. All are welcome to attend the event, and join the discussion. Registration is free and anyone interested in the topic is welcome.
