MORE than 90,000 people took to the streets of Limerick City and the Gaelic Grounds on Monday evening, August 20, to welcome home Limerick’s Senior All-Ireland Hurling Championship winners.
After 45 years, Limerick Hurling Manager, John Kiely, and his team arrived at Colbert Station with the Liam McCarthy Cup, before making their way in an open-top bus to the Gaelic Grounds where a stadium full of supporters from Limerick and beyond came to welcome home the championship winning team.
