Paradigm Shift down Lucky Lane

seed sank deep transformation

GALLERY Interlude, a project between Contact Studios and Lucky Lane introduced by Arts page a month ago, opens out for its second solo exhibition. โ€™Paradigm Shiftโ€™ is comprised of paintings by Gerry Oโ€™Mahony on show for the weekend only, Friday August 10 at 7pm into 9pm, and continuing Saturday August 11 from 11am โ€“ 3pm.

This pop up Interlude is in Lucky Laneโ€™s indoor space on Catherine Street. Everyone is welcome to the Friday launch sponsored by Treaty City Brewery and The Glen Tavern.

โ€œThis collection of work represents part of a recent phase of a ten year project,โ€ says Gerry Oโ€™Mahony. โ€œThe original inspiration was the power of the written or spoken word, for good or evil. This current phase explores a story from โ€˜Platoโ€™s Republicโ€™ of a prisoner in a cave who escapes into the light and consequently is no longer able to live with the reality of the cave.โ€

โ€˜Paradigm Shiftโ€™ defines this because it describes a radical transformation.

โ€œThis reflects how at times we can see things in a very definite way, until at some stage there is a shift in perception and change in vision. This recent work is an exploration of my own paradigm shifts, my own journey,โ€ Oโ€™Mahony says.
