Munster legend Paul O’Connell has left the Irish U-20 setup and joined French Top14 side Stade Francais in a coaching role.
The move will see O’Connell join Stade as a forwards coach with particular focus on the lineout.
He joins fellow Young Munster clubman Mike Prendergast at the Parisian club after a spell of coaching with the Ireland U-20 side.
The former British and Irish Lions captain had previously been working in an advisory role with Munster’s Academy before joining Noel McNamara’s coaching setup with the U-20’s last December.
In a video on Stade’s official Twitter account, the 108 times Irish capped second row said: “I’m very happy to be in Paris and working with this great club.”
O’Connell joins a highly rated Stade Francais coaching staff that includes Heyneke Meyer, Peter de Villiers and Julien Dupuy, as well as Prendergast.
