TAKE up of the Senior Alert scheme has been unprecedented, according to Limerick Fine Gael TD Tom Neville. “The objective of the scheme is to encourage community support for vulnerable older people through the provision of personal monitored alarms to enable them to continue to live securely in their homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind,” Deputy Neville explained. 1,648 participants have been approved in County Limerick since the Seniors Alert Scheme started in September 2015.
