ST MARY’s Cathedral has a delightful summer series of lunchtime concerts going, hosting international class soloists, singers and professional as well as occasional college choral groups.
At 1.15pm on Wednesday June 20 will centre on Beethoven’s Sonata in A, with Eithne Tinney on piano and Frank Schaefer, cello. Wednesday 27 will offer Irina Dernova on piano accompanying soprano Helen Hancock. They have music by Mozart, Schubert, Barber and Vivaldi in mind.
Into July 4, soprano Emma English and David Szabo on piano present a programme of Mozart, Poulenc and Schumann.
Know that all concerts are free but there is a retiring collection to support this all-but-weekly offer at www.saintmaryscathedral.ie, in its 850th year of celebration.
