STRATOS, the aviation advisory specialist, has selected Shannon and the evolving international aviation cluster to set up its Irish base in what is seen as another boost for the attractiveness of the region to the sector.

Initially, the specialist firm will bring six staff to its new base at the Shannon Group’s Rineanna House with the possibility of expanding the team in the future.

Gary Fitzgerald CEO said: “Stratos chose Shannon and the Mid West because it is a dynamic environment from an aviation industry perspective, with a heritage that is second to none.

Meanwhile flexible employment agency, Employmum, has announced plans to expand its operations with a Limerick office by the end of the year.

The move is in response to an uptake in services as more companies share the view that flexible work is the future of work.

Founder of Employmum, Karen O’Reilly says by the end of 2018, Cork based Employmum will have an office in Limerick and Dublin and aims to have four staff on their team. “We are opening an office in Limerick shortly and will have an office in Dublin by the end of the year. We are investigating to build Employmum into a platform-based service so that we can scale internationally. We know the demand is there,” Ms O’Reailly said.
