Cathedral’s lunchtime concerts

Liam Monagher on violin

ST MARY’s Cathedral offers details of its next five Wednesday concerts that entertain at lunch hour, reliably 1.15pm for first chords. On Wednesday June 6, music by Mozart, Gounod, Barber, Copland and Beethoven will feature in a programme played by Liam Monagher on violin and pianist Irina Dernova.

The soprano Triona Walsh will sing.

On to Wednesday June 13 for works by Donizetti, Bellini and Rachmaninov. Again, the Cathedral is host to a soprano, Magdalena Kowai, and Irina will accompany her on piano.

Everybody is welcome, these concerts are free and there is a passive collection to support the annual programme of music.
