‘TENETS’ is exhibition of new work by Third Year students of the Limerick School of Art and Design’s Fine Art, Painting department. Opening this Thursday May 3 at 6.30pm in the Sailors’ Home, O’Curry Street, this exhibition was conceived in collaboration with curator Stephen Murphy, with two priorities guiding.
There is an emphasis on creating site- specific works as a reaction to The Sailors’ Home and its history, and secondly, to make works that are a manifest expression of the artists’ most fundamental principles – their own personal tenets.
Anticipate a variety of media including painting, drawing, photography, video and installation work. These works “conceptually, philosophically and ideologically resonate within viewers whose personal beliefs, opinions or values align with those of the artist.” Into May 9, 11am to 4pm daily.
