Today the Limerick Together for Yes campaign is encouraging people to make sure they post their voter registration forms off before the bank holiday weekend to ensure they arrive at councils before the May 8th deadline.
Forms can be downloaded on checktheregister.ie. The RFA2 form is the form to fill out for registering vote and the RFA3 form is for change of address. Any person who turns 18 before the referendum on May 25th is also eligible to register in advance of the deadline if they bring proof of age with them.
In order to register to vote, all persons will need to bring identification and proof of address when they are getting their forms stamped at the Garda station.
Together for Yes Co-Director, Ailbhe Smyth, said; ‘‘The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday May 8th. We are urging everyone to post their forms off before the bank holiday weekend to make sure they arrive before the deadline. Voter registration forms need to be stamped by a Garda at your local station and sent to your local council. We are encouraging everyone to make sure they are registered to vote so that they can have their say in the referendum on May 25th’’
Forms can be handed in to the local councils in person on Tuesday May 8th for anyone that doesn’t get them in the post on time.
