ONE male is in garda custody in Limerick this Tuesday night after €22,000 worth of suspected amphetamine (speed) was discovered at a premises in the city.
As part of a planned operation, Gardai from the divisional drugs unit along with members from Roxboro Road carried out a search of a premises on Clare Street in the city this Tuesday afternoon.
The drugs, understood to be “speed”, was seized and will be sent to the Forensic Science Ireland laboratory for analysis and testing.
One man, arrested at the scene and aged in his mid 30s, is currently being detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station under section 2 of the drug trafficking act.
The male can be held for a period of up to seven days before he is either released or charged before the courts.
Garda investigations are continuing.
