Newcastle West born Christopher King to wow judges on Ireland’s Got Talent

Christopher King on Ireland's Got Talent

IRELAND’S Got Talent continues on TV3 this Saturday. Jason Byrne sent producers into a frenzy last week when he pressed his Golden Buzzer by mistake sending drag act Martin McGuinness through to the semi-finals, something which has never happened in the history of the show. All but show presenter Lucy have used their Golden Buzzer option now. This week the judges get in on the act onstage when Denise and Jason are invited on stage to lend a helping hand with some very wacky acts.

Aside from the weird and even weirder on the show this week, there is one Limerick representative.

Country Music fanatic Christopher King hopes to wow the judges on Ireland’s Got Talent on TV3 this Saturday March 3, broadcasting from 7.30pm. Christopher (29) is originally from Limerick and has travelled from Swindon to perform. His family is from Newcastle West. His mother worked in Limerick General Hospital and moved to UK when Christopher was three. She is his inspiration and the one who got the hairdresser and part-time Zumba teacher into country music. Christopher did not tell his Irish family that he was going to audition for the show.

He will sing Don’t Close your Eyes by Keith Whitley for the judges. His musical inspirations are Dolly Parton and Lisa McHugh. Will his easy country singing style seduce the judges – Could Ireland’s Got Talent be the big break for Christopher King?
