County Limerick takes a stroll

Ballyhoura Beo is running a ‘Loop Walk Education Program’ for rural communities

Ballyhoura Beo is running a ‘Loop Walk Education Program’ for rural communities in County Limerick throughout January, February and March. The Loop walks are taking place in local towns and villages using local trails, part of the ‘Healthy Limerick’ initiative to promote a healthier lifestyle, through being physically active and more socially
connected.

The walks are running over an 8-week period in the following locations: Kilmallock,
Hospital, Bruff, and Knocklong and Caherconlish. Walks commence at 9:30am- 11:30am
Monday through Friday. The walks are guided and facilitated by outdoor recreation
instructors and showcase a mix of town loops and guided national trails across
Ballyhoura Country.

On February 7th, a free bus will be collecting walkers from Bruff at 9:15am and
Kilmallock at 9:30am to a country walk trail facilitated by Ballyhoura Beo. Participants
will be requested to bring raincoats and hiking boots. Allow 2-3 hours for the walk.

Ballyhoura Development CLG, with the support of the ‘Healthy Ireland Initiative’ is also
running an ‘Inclusive Cycle Safety Initiative’. Community and school groups were
randomly selected, to take part in this pilot scheme, which is currently running in
