
COUNCILLORS in Limerickโs Metropolitan District believe there is an urgent need for community centres in the city and have urged council officials to visit St Munchinโs Resource Centre to see how they can emulate its success in other urban areas.
Solidarity councillor Paul Keller called for urgent action in getting a community centre established in Garryowen.
Fianna Fail councillor Kieran OโHanlon said the council needed to be more active and felt that finding a greenfield site was the best solution for a community centre in Garryowen.
Party colleague Jerry OโDea pointed out that the people in the area deserved a โpurpose built facilityโ.
