BELLTABLE gallery is host to Limerick Printmakers’ Winter Members’ Exhibition, current at the art centre’s foyer until Saturday December 16 inclusive. It is the 15th such Winter show, presenting a variety of works from artists and printmakers, photographers, recent graduates from different disciplines alongside graphic designers and teachers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the most recent output of a fine art printmaking studio that has been in existence in Limerick city for over 18 years,” observes Jess Tobin. “Printmaking is an affordable and accessible form of art, being of high quality and of a collectable nature.”
Techniques include silkscreen, letterpress, monoprint, embossment, etching, sugar life and collograph.
Move on to the Crescent Shopping Centre campus for Dooradoyle Library. There Jean Ryan Hakizimana, fresh from the auction of his donated paintings and those of his students to benefit Enable Ireland, has another show opening.
There’s an invitation to all to his December show of abstract landscapes in Dooradoyle this Friday 8 at 6.30pm, works that herald a completely different style for the Rwandan artist and writer. Everyone attending the opening night reception will receive a raffle ticket for one of his colourful works being given away before the night closes in.
Ongoing until December end.
