The theatre of Dubliners’ Women

A NEW take on Joyceโ€™s โ€˜Dublinersโ€™ short stories for theatre, โ€˜Dubliners Womenโ€™ โ€shines a light on the lesser known womenโ€™s stories โ€“ The Boarding House, Clay and Evelineโ€œ.

Directed by Sarah Baxter, adapted by playwright and actress Katie O’Kelly and with Maudi Oโ€™Carroll, Kate Oโ€™Kelly and Gordon Quigley, it’s a Belltable show this Saturday 18, 8pm curtin.

Programme notes tell us that it โ€œbrings characters to life in a highly performative and theatrical storytelling style.

“The script is a faithful adaptation of Joyceโ€™s text, finding the humour and quintessential Irish wit in the stories through performance, drawing you in to the inner narratives of the central characters.โ€
