THE Songs for Jackson Pollock is a project currently raising funds on Kickstarter.com
The project is a collection of songs conceived by composer Óscar Mascareñas based on works by the American artist Jackson Pollock, particularly his Black Paintings. The album was partly recorded and mixed by the composer at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, UL.
The project, Óscar explains, aims to “share with the listener the experience I had at the gallery. To share it yet not to represent it (or re-present it), but to expose it or reveal it through the intimacy of the voice.”
