CAB Mid West raids to tackle organised crime

GARDAI assisting the Criminal Assets Bureau, carried out a number of searches at various locations in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary.

The operational searches, led by members of the Criminal Assets Bureau are being conducted as part of ongoing investigations into the purchase of land, vehicles and other assets by organised criminal groups based in the region.

Members of the armed Regional Support Unit and local Gardaí assisted the CAB officers this Wednesday carry out the morning searches.

A garda spokesperson said that the operation has focused searches on a number of locations including private residences and business premises.

Documentation, mobile phones, devices and computer equipment have been seized but they added that no arrests were planned during this phase of the investigation.
