LUXURY tour operators, Classic Vacations, recently visited Limerick and the Wild Atlantic Way during a Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland led initiative to target US high net worth visitors to Ireland.
The joint collaboration hosted nine members of Classic Vacations in a weeklong visit to Ireland that included stops in Limerick, the Wild Atlantic Way, Ancient East and Dublin.
Classic Vacations is one of the largest high end tour operators in the US and next year will mark the first time that the tour operator sells Ireland as a destination.
The targeting of the high net worth niche luxury markets was one of the activities highlighted by Fáilte Ireland when it launched its Get Brexit Ready initiative.
Stops at Adare Manor, Bunratty Park, as well as in Galway, Cork, Mayo, Westmeath and Dublin were included for the tour operators along with the newly refurbished Guinness Storehouse.
Amongst dozens more, visits to the “Treaty city, the setting for Frank McCourt’s best selling memoir” are now on sale through the Classic Vacations website.
Ciara Sugrue, Fáilte Ireland’s Head of International Publicity and Trade, explained: “We know that the luxury travel market has great potential for Ireland. Indeed, Ireland has a lot to offer the discerning visitor. We hope these Classic Vacations tour operators will be suitably impressed by what they see here and will programme Ireland to their clients.”
