TWO contemporary shows created by esteemed choreographers and produced by John Scott Dance Theatre present tonight Thursday October 5 at Dance Limerick, John’s Square at 8pm.
Merce Cunningham created the duet ‘Night Wandering’ back in 1958 and this production is costumed by the influential Robert Rauschenberg. Julie Cunningham and Kevin Coquelard dance to a piano score by Swedish composer Bo Nilsson.
‘Denuded’ is the second event, to do with the body, movement and stillness, breathing and most importantly, about a constant contact with the audience. The work of Bruno Isakovic (pictured), ‘Denuded’ “examines the transformation of physicality upon release from its own source, reflecting upon being-in-the-world through the medium of ritual atmosphere.”
