HOME Instead Senior Care will host a complimentary workshop for family carers in Limerick, one in a series in the Mid West. The purpose is to support family carers in taking care of loved ones with Alzheimerโ€™s or dementia at home.

The next workshops, variously staged to embrace as many caregivers as is possible, take place at the following dates and locations:

ยท ย  ย  ย  ย  This evening, Thursday 21, 7pm-9pm at ย Clayton Hotel Limerick, Steamboat Quay.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Tuesday September 26, 6pm to 9pm at Desmond Complex, Newcastle West.ย

Family carers from the local community are invited to attend the workshop and learn practical caregiving techniques such as:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Suggested approaches when helping with personal care activities

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Understanding behavioural symptoms of dementia

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Learning how to start conversations for effective communication

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Recognising ways to prevent behavioural symptoms in the future

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Discovering ways to care for yourself so that you can remain a successful family caregiver
