Fresco created by NovaDead, powered by ATENOR in Rue de la Loi in Brussels – Limerick people are being asked to have their say on the Future of Europe

LIMERICK people can have their say on the future of Europe after the Joint Committee on European Union Affairs issued a call for submissions this week.

The joint Oireachtas committee is seeking to find out what the citizens of Ireland want from tomorrow’s Europe.

A White Paper, presented by the European Commission, outlines five possible directions for the EU’s future, accompanied by a description of what the EU could be like in 2025.

Now, the Committee wants to hear the views of as many Irish citizens as possible on what form they would like the future of Europe to take; what they feel is working and what isn’t working.

Amid Brexit, the future of the EU continues to cause great concern and it is vital that citizens’ voices are heard before any final decision is made, the committee has said.

Using the submissions, the committee will ensure that Ireland is at the forefront of these discussions.

Deadline for written submissions is October 20 and should be sent to [email protected]
