Call out for Culture Night

THE date is announced for Culture Night 2017, now falling on Friday September 22. Last year, Limerick hosted 118 events in 76 locations and drew in an impressive 18,500 people as passive or interactive audience.

Limerick Arts Office is about to do a public call out for participants who would like to be involved.

“So if you are part of a club, organisation or group who would like to organise a Culture Night event, Limerick Arts Office will be there to support your involvement in this very popular national initiative. Assembled Memories – Jack B Yeats

ON Thursday June 15 at 1pm in The Hunt Museum, complementary with the current exhibition ‘Jack B. Yeats and Paul Henry: Contrasting Visions of Ireland’, a monthly lecture series will begin on. We are invited to explore this Yeats’ life and work through Irish film maker Thaddeus O’Sullivan’s short, ‘Assembled Memories’.

International Choral Conducting school

^ THE 38th annual International Choral Conducting Summer School (ICDSS) will take place at University of Limerick from August 6 to 12. This School, under the artistic direction of Irish conductor Bernie Sherlock, provides conductors, teachers, music students, choral enthusiasts, and musicians with hands on experience through intensive and enjoyable choral instruction.

The only one of its kind in Ireland, this seven day course offers a wealth of expertise from six international tutors who are active conductors and teachers of conducting.
