#BREAKING Man killed following laneway row in Limerick

GARDAI in Limerick were this Wednesday afternoon investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in the city centre where a man has been stabbed to death.

Shortly after 1.30pm, a dispute saw a large number of people gather at Roches Row between Roches Street and William Street in the city.

During the dispute, one man received stab injuries and has died as a result at University Hospital Limerick.

Gardai and Emergency Services were alerted to the scene.

Emergency paramedics attached to the National Ambulance Service were providing life saving medical treatment to the victim who is understood to be a foreign national.

The victim was transferred to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead. The office of the state pathologist has been notified and a murder investigation has been launched.

The scene was closed off pending technical and forensic examinations.

It is understood that one man was arrested and is being questioned by gardai at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
