BEN Caplan will be celebrating a win when he comes to Limerick this weekend. He has just been awarded 2016 Music Nova Scotia Entertainer of the Year and also picked up an award for ‘Birds With Broken Wings’ for Folk Album of the Year.
Ben has spent much of 2016 on the road supporting his record, ‘Birds With Broken Wings’ touring Europe and Ireland, laying 43 shows in 53 days.
An unforgettable live performer, Caplan is visually striking and a larger than life character with a set of musical stories from the heartfelt to the edgy, and dark stomping blues to Balkan inspired melodies. Inspired in part by Eastern European and Jewish folk traditions, Ben Caplan mixes older musical sensibilities with his own soul, straight from his hairy heart on delights like ‘I Got Me a Woman’ and ‘Ride On’ (not that ‘Ride On’!).
Don’t miss Ben Caplan and his band on Friday November 18 and even better, Emma Langford is his special guest – so settle in early for a night of quality musical drama. www.dolans.ie
