WITH only two wins from seven clashes in round five, Limerick clubs will be looking for massive improvements in this weekend’s Ulster Bank League fixtures.
In Divison 1A, Young Munster travel to St Mary’s in what should be another open, high scoring game of rugby.
The men from the yellow road are the highest points scorers in the Division, yet they also have the leakiest defence. The ‘Cookies’ are currently second in the table, but with two road games to come, they’ll know that every point counts.
In the same Divison, Garryowen will travel to take on UCD in another clash sure to be entertaining in its endeavour.
UL Bohemians, one of three unbeaten sides in the five Divisions, travel to Athlone to take on Buccaneers in what, should they win, be a signal that the Robins are nailed on favourites to go up automatically.
At the other end of the table, Shannon RFC will host Dolphin in Thomond Park on Saturday. The Marcus Horan coached side are still looking for their first win of the season, but with stars such as former Exeter chief Tom Hayes in their ranks, that all important four points cannot be too far away.
In Division 2B, Old Crescent, currently in sixth spot, will travel to Armagh this weekend for a clash with the unbeaten northern side. In the same Division, bottom side and winless Thomond entertain Skerries at Fitzgerald Park.
Finally, in Division 2C, bottom side Bruff will face third placed Tullamore in Kilballyowen. Conor Hartigan’s men know that home wins will keep them up this season in what is proving to be a hard fought campaign for the men from County Limerick.
