GARDAI are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N24, Limerick to Waterford Road at Ballykisteen, on this Tuesday November 1 at approximately 8pm.
A 23-year-old male pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car.
He was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination will be carried out.
No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
The N24 is currently closed at Ballykisteen to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place at Monard and Barnstown Cross.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those travelling on the N24 at Ballykisteen, County Tipperary yesterday evening between 7.45pm and 8.15pm is asked to contact them at Tipperary Garda Station on 062 80670, The Garda confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
