ON THE afternoon of Sunday October 30, 3pm, Specsavers Limerick will presents a Hallowe’en screening of the classic comedy-horror ‘Hocus Pocus’.
This cinematic joy is at UCH, with all proceeds in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
“Children – young and old – are welcome to come as their favourite ghoul, goblin, witch or wizard, to contribute and enjoy a fun filled family afternoon,” the concert hall suggests encouragingly. “Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy [above], ‘Hocus Pocus’ is the story of a trio of witches who return to gain revenge 300 years after they were sentenced to die in Salem.
“Terrorising the town’s trick-or-treaters on Halloween, riding on vacuum cleaners instead of broomsticks, the only thing that can stop them is a black cat, which is in fact a boy who was turned into feline form on the day of the witches’ original execution”.
Roll up to this thrilling tale, the ideal way to celebrate mid-term break on a Sunday afternoon.
This screening is one of a 10-strong series sponsored by Specsavers Limerick, running until Christmas. Book a www.uch.ie for this matinée.
